Pragmatic Language


Pragmatic Language refers to the social language skills that we use when interacting with others. This includes both verbal and non-verbal skills. Pragmatic language both what we say and how we say it. Skills that fall under the pragmatic language category include eye contact, facial expressions, conversational skills, turn taking, personal space, and many others. Modeling is a very effective mode of intervention for working on pragmatic skills with children.
