Drivers Rehabilitation
Driver’s Rehabilitation provides a thorough evaluation & appropriate treatment for people of all ages with conditions that may affect their ability to drive safely. These may include teens learning to drive, adults returning to driving after illness or injury, and older adults who are experiencing a decline in physical, visual, memory & processing function. Based on each person’s individual abilities and needs, a safe driving plan will be developed and suitable treatment will be provided.

About Driving Community Level 1
Issued by: American Occupational Therapy Association
Earners of the Occupational Therapy Driving Level I badge have successfully demonstrated an understanding of driving as an IADL impacted by impairments identified in evaluation of vision, physical ability, and cognition. Earners are familiar with the MODEM model and are able to develop resources to address service gaps and to identify a cost efficient service continuum. In addition, badge earners are able to educate families about transitioning to community mobility options.

Earners of the Occupational Therapy Driving Level II badge have obtained a basic understanding of low vision. This understanding includes knowledge of the anatomy of the eye, common eye diseases, the process of low vision care and the psychological and physical adjustments to low vision. Low vision is often a concern of aging drivers due to impact on ability to navigate in poor lighting, poor weather conditions, to see hazards quickly and see in the periphery.
